Craft Workshop: Textile Portraiture

I ran a workshop at the Crafts Council for young children aged between 4-10 focused on identity and self-expression using textiles. I began the session by talking to the children about the importance of defining one's self, and encouraged them to create their own representations and images of themselves. I explained the importance of this as a way of forming a solid sense of self and identity from a young age, helping to combat any negative perceptions that are put onto us as we grow older.
