Craft Workshop: Portable Histories
Reflecting on artist Hew Locke's artwork 'Procession' at the Tate Britain, I produced a workshop at their Late at Tate event which encouraged participants to reframe the way we think of our collective and personal histories. Using textiles and paper materials, each participant created a small 'portable history' which spoke to a positive memory, place or object from their past. The aim was to emphasise the importance of documenting positive stories from our past to encourage and empower us.
