Craft Workshop: Appliqué
Working with the Lewisham Youth Offending Service I produced a workshop that engaged young people with craft as a form of self-expression. Whilst the young girls within the Youth Offending Service feel as though they are misunderstood and misrepresented within society, I worked with them to produce an appliqué piece which affirms and speaks to their own thoughts and beliefs. Each letter of the alphabet created by the young girls speaks to the beliefs of one or all of the participants.
