The Trilogy of Death - Berwick Visual Arts & The Crafts Council
TRILOGY OF DEATH comprises two modern interpretations & a copy of the Staffordshire Potteries The Death of Munrow ca. 1810. The 2 companion pieces use elements of the original imagery to remark on contemporary social issues. Death of Sainsbury’s turns everything metaphorically & literally on its head commenting on the simplicity of the food chain & the predominance of supermarkets within it. The Death of a Species references the over hunting by man & subsequent extinction of subspecies of tigers
