Colour, texture and form are my primary concerns and how they work together on various fabrics. Abstract collages are layered hand-painted pieces of silk and velvet collected over years, while velvet cushions and scarves are simply painted in soft, subtle shades to be used in interiors. Inspired by abstract expressionist artists like Rothko, Delaunay and Klee, I experiment with texture and detail, giving velvet new life as both wall-hanging art and homeware.
Sustainability is central to my practice. I re-use hand-painted silk and velvet remnants in my collages to minimise waste and celebrate each fabric’s unique history. My hand-painted cushions are mainly made to order, reducing surplus and making thoughtful use of materials. Each piece reflects a slow-made approach that values craftsmanship, care, and environmental responsibility.
