The Brookfield Properties Craft Award was established in 2020 as part of Brookfield Properties' mission, over the last 35 years, to champion the creative industries. A leading global manager of high-quality real estate assets, Brookfield Properties stages hundreds of cultural experiences and exhibitions across its properties annually, all free to the public. We are active in nearly all real estate businesses, including office, retail, multifamily, hospitality, and logistics. We manage more than 1100 properties and over 390 million square feet of real estate in global markets on behalf of Brookfield, one of the largest asset managers in the world. With a focus on sustainability, a commitment to excellence, and the drive for relentless innovation in the planning, development, and management of buildings and their surroundings, Brookfield Properties is making the world a little bit better, together.
“Over the past six years, the Brookfield Properties Craft Award has championed both established and emerging artists while supporting the Crafts Council’s national collection. As Brookfield Properties and Collect have grown, we’re excited to evolve the award for 2026. Guided by the Crafts Council, these changes will enable artists to present bigger, bolder, and more impactful works across two Brookfield Properties spaces while prioritising ownership, sustainability, and flexibility. This evolution ensures the award continues to benefit artists, galleries, the Crafts Council, and audiences, reinforcing our commitment to the craft industry and its wider ecosystem. We are currently reviewing an incredible roster of artists and look forward to announcing the winner in the new year.” — Saff Williams, Director of Arts and Events, Brookfield Properties
LOEWE FOUNDATION, Fair Partner
The LOEWE FOUNDATION was established as a private cultural foundation in 1988 by Enrique Loewe, a fourth-generation member of LOEWE’s founding family. Today, under the direction of his daughter Sheila Loewe, the Foundation continues to promote creativity, organise educational programs and protect cultural heritage in the fields of craft, art, design, photography, poetry and dance. The Foundation was awarded the Gold Medal for Merit in the Fine Arts by the Spanish government in 2002.
“For almost a decade, the LOEWE FOUNDATION has been proud to collaborate with the Crafts Council in support of Collect, now in its 22nd edition. As one of the world’s leading platforms for contemporary craft, the fair brings together outstanding makers from around the globe and remains an essential space for discovery, dialogue, and the celebration of excellence.” — Sheila Loewe, President, LOEWE FOUNDATION
