My art reflects my passion for the landscape; sea, cliffs, rocks and plants. Inspiration comes both from my native Cornwall and international travels.
A graduate of Goldsmiths College, I pioneered a technique using hand dyed fabrics such as silks, satin and velvet, to create dynamic artworks that respond to variations in light, creating a continuously fresh experience for the viewer. I have been commissioned to create artworks for a multitude of public spaces, particularly in America.
I am a maker who lives and works in a wooded valley bottom in the far west of Cornwall. I garden 3 acres, and am able to bring flowers into my studio that I have grown. This, together with the magnificent landscapes that surround me, forms much of my inspiration. My work is a long-term study of the rich environment that surrounds me. My garden is cultivated to encourage wildlife, including a rich array of butterflies and beetles which often appear in my art.
