Treasured Remnants
My latest collection is inspired by the remnants and off-cuts of vintage ribbons used in my textile jewellery. By making use of what already exists, I aim to celebrate the past and make it permanent, by immortalising the fabric in metal. Using ribbons and trims from 16th century Florence, 1920s art deco hat trims, antique French passementerie and military braids, the intricate details are preserved through imprinting in wax, then casting in recycled silver.
