I have developed my own processes to cast textural textiles into glass, allowing me to explore the interplay between opposing material qualities - soft and hard, transparent and opaque, fragile and robust, with aesthetic links to geology, confectionary, and bodily forms. The cultural histories of stitching imbue my work with conceptual themes of femininity, women’s work, historical fashion and nostalgia. The materiality of glass gives a view of the negative space of the folds from the inside out
Focus:
Cast glass and fabric manipulation

Glass art is a very energy intensive process, and is difficult to create in a sustainable way. However, I believe in a return to craftsmanship, creating decorative objects that will stand the test of time rather than mass produced 'fast fashion' decor that will end up on a landfill. I think we should be buying less, more high quality things that are made by hand.
