My practice is rooted in the observation of the ever-changing qualities of the natural world and its innate rhythms. The works are created on my treasured George Wood dobby loom. Each work is designed to invite close inspection, revealing layers of intricacy, encouraging viewers to pause and reflect. Foraged materials are integral to my creations, I totally absorbed myself in the process of experimenting with these natural materials, blending them with traditional fibres and weave structures.
Focus:
Woven artworks, spatial divides and sculptural pieces for public and private locations.
My works include many ethically foraged materials including seaweed, sticks, wood. I use recycled yarns, whenever possible, alongside re-using my own woven experimental samples.
In the day to day running of the workshop I recycle and reuse everything I possibly can. I detest waste.
