In conversation with Emefa Cole
Get hold of free tickets to watch the celebrated jewellery designer Emefa Cola discuss the ins and outs of her creative practice
In conversation with Crafts editor Debika Ray, experimental jewellery artist and designer-maker Emefa Cole uses 100% recycled metals and stones in her work, sourced directly from African gem cutters. From these she forges distinctive body adornment that dares to be quiet in its boldness, sculptural yet flowing, tactile yet tangible, luxurious yet subversive.
Born in Sunyani, West-Central Ghana and moving to London when she was 12 years old, the jewellery artist discusses her practice and trailblazing approach to her role as the V&A’s inaugural curator of diaspora jewellery.
This event will take place online via Zoom from 1-2pm on Friday 3 March 2023, streaming live from Collect at Somerset House.
A limited number of free tickets have been made specially available for Crafts members. Use the offer code CRAFTS when booking via Eventbrite.
